Policies

In order for your child to enjoy a safe and educational after-school experience, please make sure to review all of our policies below.

Forms: A Medical less than 1-year old is required.

Admission
The program is open to all current NEST+m students and their siblings not attending NEST+m but whom are schooled aged and enrolled in neighboring schools. Alumni and children who are not currently NEST+m students may be granted admission with a teacher recommendation, if space is available. Please note that we have limited capacity.

Semesters and Hours
The program is divided into two semesters, Fall: which runs from September through January. Spring: February through June. Please check our Calendar for specific dates.

Registration & Payments
Registration is on a first come, first served basis and is only open to accounts in good standing for all programs administered by After3. Registrations will be accepted throughout the school year for classes with openings, however, tuition will not be prorated.

There is variable registration/administrative fee applied to course fees; This is a one-time fee for each student, per semester.

Payment Plans

We offer a payment plan in three installments: First payment due at the time of registration, second installment due on February 15th, and the third installment due on March 15th, 2024. Administrative Fees will be added to all accounts who select to pay in installments.

**Please note receipts will display course names as listed in the brochure and Online registration system. We make no claims/guarantees that our programs are reimbursable, so please check with your employer to make sure that our programs qualify under their guidelines. **

Refunds/Credits
Refunds/credits may be granted before the close of online registration. Please note a $25 processing fee may apply. No refunds/credits after the close of online registration. Registration fee is non-refundable. Refunds will not be issued for days After3 is closed, school closings and rapid dismissals. In the event that a teacher is absent, After3 will make every attempt to provide a substitute or provide supervised care, but no make-up class will be offered and no refunds/credits will be issued.

Please note that courses are a set fee, per semester. As per our policy we do not credit or prorate course fees.

Transfers
Parents can request a transfer to a different course within the first two weeks of the program, within the same semester if space is available. No refunds/credits will be issued if the new class requested is less expensive than the original class. If the new class is greater than the original class the difference will be charged. Transfers after the first two weeks will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Transfers will be limited to once, per semester.

*Please note we do not offer the option of specialized courses if your course ends earlier or starts at a later date than the semester start/end dates. Homework Club will be available as coverage for any student who is registered for these kind of courses (i.e: Soccer, Rollerblading, Skateboarding, and the Musical).

Outstanding Balances
Please note new registrations will not be honored for accounts with a past due balance. Any course/bus fees collected will be applied to your accounts outstanding balance. No refunds/credits will issued.

Electronics/Social Media
*Use of gaming/ portable electronic devices prohibited during structured activities; limited educational use during unstructured time
*No social media
*No inappropriate games or websites
*No photography or videotaping

Transportation

After3 bus service is provided by ARJ Transportation and is open to all students enrolled in after school. We service Upper East Side, Upper West Side/Tribeca, and certain areas of Brooklyn. Routes are based on students enrolled on each particular day. Please see the Transportation Tap for detailed information.

Please note that the bus is a set fee, per semester. As per our policy we do not credit or prorate the bus fee.

Dismissal
If you need to pick your child up earlier than the dismissal you signed up for at registration, please email After3nyc@gmail.com or call 1-888-462-6964 no later than 4:10 pm. All early dismissal must be before 4:20 pm. Parents will be allowed in the building at 4:45 pm.

Lateness

The last pick up is at 5:45pm. Pick ups after 5:45pm may incur a late fee of $5 per minute. The building closes promptly at 6pm. Students who haven’t been picked up by 6:15pm will be escorted to the local 7th police precinct located at 19 1/2 Pitt Street, New York, NY, 10013, (212) 477-7311.

Things parents should know/do:

  • Know what program your child is signed up for.
  • Sign your child out at the front desk.

Things parents should not do:

  • Do not attempt to leave without signing your child out.
  • Do not block/linger in cafeteria, hallway or on the staircase, this is a FIRE HAZARD.

4:45 pm Dismissal

  • Pick this option if you plan to pick your child up by 4:45pm.

5:45 Dismissal ($50 fee per day of the week)

  • Students will have the option to do homework or games and activities.
  • Program ends promptly at 5:45. Call if you’re running late! Lateness may result in a late fee.

Financial Aid *Not currently available 

If you think your child is eligible for financial assistance, please fill out the Family Income form located here: https://www2.myschoolapps.com/ The form opens up for school year 2023-2024 on July 2.

A limited amount of Financial Aid is available to students who currently qualify:

  • Students who qualify are eligible for a free homework club session;
  • Financial aid is on a first come first served basis. Please note that review and approval can take up to 2 weeks, so we recommend early request;
  • Eligibility is determined per semester and a new request must be made each semester;
  • If a program is paid and the student is then deemed eligible, no refunds will be issued;
  • Financial aid codes must be redeemed during the semester issued;
  • Financial aid may not apply to certain courses provided by outside vendors. Please contact us for a list of eligible programs. This list is subject to change.

If you think you are eligible for financial aid, Please note that financial aid eligibility is determined and issued solely by After3. 

  • The eligibility letter should then be scanned and emailed to After3nyc@gmail.com. for financial aid determination. During the school year, the letter can also be left in the After3 mailbox in the PTA office.
