Nikki Federman is thrilled to be joining InterPlay Chamber Music at NEST+m. Nikki Federman is an active performer and teacher in the New York City area who has performed across the United States, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. A certified Suzuki teacher who trained at the School for Strings, Nikki believes in a warm and customized approach to teaching children and adults of all ages. As a Teaching Artist for the Manhattan School of Music’s Arts-in-Education Program, Nikki taught outreach violin classes to underprivileged children in Harlem. She is currently violin/viola faculty at the Mozart Academy, Silver Music, and maintains a private studio. Nikki has performed with the New York City Opera, the New World Symphony, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, and alongside members of the New York Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Nikki graduated from Manhattan School of Music’s Master of Orchestral Performance Program under the tutelage of Karen Dreyfus and received her undergraduate degree with high honors from Princeton University as a student of Nardo Poy. Winner of the Lillian Fuch’s Memorial Chamber Music Competition in 2007, Nikki continues to be an active chamber musician and is the violist for the Dynamic Motion Company, a chamber music and dance collaboration that debuted at Alvin Ailey in February 2009.
